TORONTO – The first of many Google Shops has opened in Toronto, and we were on hand to check out the tech giant’s new retail space in Best Buy locations across North America.
At the opening, CDN got the chance to speak with Janell Fischer, Google’s director of retail marketing, about what Google Shops mean to the company, and what customers can expect when they visit one of these new locations.
The Google Shop in Toronto, located at the Best Buy location in Heartland, Mississauga, joins Shops in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary. These are four of 14 shops that will be opened by the end of 2016. Inside, customers will find all sorts of Google products, from the Pixel smartphone to the Chromecast.
Apple has many products. Microsoft has many products. Google? Chromecast and Pixel unless they intend on carrying products from other companies that are using a Google OS such as LG phones or Chromebricks.
