TeamTek of Richmond Hill, Ont., is celebrating 10 years in business. Given today’s economic climate in high tech, what the staff at TeamTek have accomplished is extraordinary.
Wes Pollock, vice president of sales for TeamTek, said he was proud of company’s milestone. “I’ve very happy that we have succeeded for 10 years. Reaching the 10-year anniversary was a goal of the group and to have realized, it makes it special,” Pollock said.
He added a “thank you” to the many loyal customers who have been with TeamTek since day one and the new customers TeamTek has worked with over the decade.
But Pollock knows that to continue to celebrate anniversaries, TeamTek needs to evolve as a company.
One of his main tasks at TeamTek is to introduce new products that can take customers in a new direction.
The cloud is certainly something Pollock and TeamTek is considering, but he added that the market is still skeptical. “Where is the data going? The cloud has security issues that need to be ironed out,” he said.
This is one of the reasons why Pollock has looked to an old technology with a new technology spin. WizardWall is paper that has a static charge and therefore can stick to anything like a post-it note. The paper feels like film and it comes from WizardWall.com of South Florida in a kit with pens and brush. The paper comes in white or clear.
Pollock said that this product is going to be positioned as an alternative to white boards. “It’s ideally suited for education and construction markets.”
“This is new and it’s also something for people to talk about. Today, you have to think outside the box and Wizard Wall has done that,” Pollock said.
TeamTek today sports more than 20 vendor partners predominantly in the printer and data storage space which includes Lexmark, IBM, Imation, Fuji, HP, Quantum, and Sun/Oracle. The company is an authorized distributor that runs around the clock for storage, imaging, and bar coding services.
