Acer launches new Windows and Android tablets for work and play

PC vendor Acer is refreshing and expanding its tablet lineup, with two new Iconia tablets and an expansion of its Iconia One tablet series.

The new devices are the Iconia Tab 8, the Iconia Tab 10 and One 8, and include both Windows and Android offerings.

The Iconia Tab 8 W is an 8” tablet running Windows 8.1. It’s just 9.75mm thin and weighs 370 grams, and is powered by an Intel AtomTM Z3735G quad-core processor. The screen offers a 1280×800 HD display with IPS technology, and the tablet comes with a one-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal. An optional slim and lightweight Acer Crunch Keyboard accessory is also available.

For an immersive media experience, the Iconia Tab 10 boasts two speakers with Dolby Digital Plus sound and a 10.1” Full HD display with Zero Air Gap IPS technology and Corning Gorilla Glass. It’s available in black or white, is powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

Finally, the Iconia One 8 is a new addition to Acer’s Iconia One tablet lineup, with a larger 8” 1280×800 HD display featuring Zero Air Hap and IPS technology, as well as anti-fingerprint feature.s Powered by an Intel AtomTM Z3735G quad-core processor, it measures 8.5mm thin and weighs less than 340 grams. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and is available in Jade Green, Sunshine Yellow, Vivid Orange, Sky Blue, Essential White, Midnight Black, Fragrant Pink, Violet Purple, Mia Blue and Garnet Red.

The Iconia Tab 8 W will be available in November starting at US$149.99 and the Iconia Tab 10 will be available in September starting at US$199. The Iconia One 8’s availability in the Americas was not disclosed.
