Microsoft poaching Apple store managers and sales staff

Jim Dalrymple writes that according to several sources, Microsoft is looking to take Apple retail store managers and their employees to work for them.
“People that have spoken to The Loop on condition of anonymity confirm that Microsoft has contacted a number of Apple’s retail store managers to work in their stores. In addition to ‘significant raises,’ the managers have also been offered moving expenses in some cases. Once hired, the ex-Apple employees are then contacting some of the top sales people in the Apple retail organization offering them positions at Microsoft retail. They have also been offered more money than what they made at Apple.”
AMD confirms six-core “Thuban” processors

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes provides details around AMD’s new processor, codenamed “Thuban,” which is due out sometime next year.
“The processor, codenamed ‘Thuban’ is based on 45nm architecture and will feature an integrated DDR2/DDR3 controller. The chip is based on AMD’s six-core Opteron chip. It is expected that the piece will be called Phenom II X6.”
Enterprise mashup market to increase tenfold over next five years

Joe McKendrick writes that Business Insights forecasts the enterprise mash-up market to increase more than tenfold over the next five years.
“A new report from Business Insights predicts that the enterprise mash-up market, worth around $161 million in 2008, will expand more than tenfold to $1.74 billion by 2013. About 33 per cent of companies now use enterprise mash-ups, Business Insights says. The catalyst for the enterprise mash-up market will be SOA – Business Insights puts the SOA platform market at about $1.4 billion in 2008, which will double in size, to about $2.77 billion by 2014.”
