Distributor Avnet has announced that IBM’s cloud platforms and AWS-powered solutions will be among the first offerings to be available through its newly launched Cloud Marketplace.
Under the agreement, SoftLayer and IBM Bluemix will both be available to the channel. IBM Business Partners can use Avnet’s Cloud Marketplace to access SaaS solutions in cloud, analytics, mobile, social and security applications.
Meanwhile, AWS solutions include disaster recovery offerings that integrate NetApp and Veritas software with Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon Glacier, and collaboration solutions that deploy AWS resources configured to support SharePoint implementations.
The solutions will be available in the US and Canada.
“Avnet is taking advantage of this opportunity to simplify how cloud service providers, IBM Business Partners, ISVs and customers create new routes to market and drive new revenue,” Robert LeBlanc, senior vice president of Cloud at IBM said in a statement.
With the Avnet Cloud Marketplace, partners can use their own branding as a storefront to sell service bundles. In one example, developers on the IBM Bluemix platform can sell their solutions straight out of these storefronts.
Furthermore, the channel can access Avnet’s Cloud Toolset for real-time analytics on cloud usage and spending, as well as to detect security risks.
“The Avnet Cloud Marketplace will enhance their customer relationships and roles as trusted advisors by providing them with close connections throughout the entire cloud engagement,” Patrick Zammit, global president of Avnet Technology Solutions said in a statement.
