What a difference a year makes.
Once perhaps thought to be a ways off, USB Type-C is taking over CES, and companies like Belkin are riding the wave.
The accessories maker has announced a new lineup of Type-C products to help with the transition away from Type-A. These include mini hubs, Type-C to HDMI adapters, home chargers, car chargers and cables and will be available in the spring.
The 4-Port Mini HUB
The hub features two USB-A and two USB-C ports, 5Gbps of shared data transfer speeds, powered by a USB-C device, and can charge peripherals at a shared 900mA. It retails for $49.99.
USB-C to HDMI adapter
For devices that lack an HDMI output (We’re looking at you MacBook) the dongle does just that – extends your notebook’s display to another monitor or home entertainment system. The difference here is that the Type-C adapter supports 4K resolution at 60 Hz. It also retails for $49.99.
Chargers
Other accessories as part of the announcement include home and car chargers that feature USB-A to USB-C cables. These retail for $29.99 and $34.99.
