Cisco, Juniper should do well in the current downturn, says Goldman Sachs

Cisco Subnet provides Simona Jankowski, an analyst at investment firm, Goldman Sachs’ thoughts on Juniper and Cisco.
“Jankowski is quoted as saying that ‘quality companies’ that are less reliant on the financial sector should do well. The analyst is also cited as saying that spending by service providers – Juniper’s bread-and-butter – should pick up in 2009 ahead of the consumer or business market as carriers seek ever-bigger pipes.”
Apple takes wraps off rumour-matching MacBook Pros

Tony Smith provides some details here on the new MacBooks which Apple CEO, Steve Jobs just announced yesterday.
“The new MacBooks are made from bricks of aluminum, the better to make the machines not only thinner – 0.95-inches – but also more rigid and more resistant to knocks and bumps too. It also cuts the number of structural parts by half, making the machines cheaper to maker and, stressed Jobs, more ecologically sound too. The 15.4-inch screen is LED backlit and so is the keyboard.”
iPod and Bluetooth taking over new cars

“Automakers have finally figured out that people love gadgets, and just about every 2009 model will have iPod and Bluetooth connectivity. With the auto industry in a tailspin, automakers are scrambling to make their vehicles as attractive as possible. One way to do that is offer the connectivity consumers crave. iPod and Bluetooth integration, once the domain of luxury vehicles, has grown increasingly common and the 2009 model year marks the first time more than half of all new cars will be gadget-ready.”
