CA, a global IT management software developer, has just released its Internet Security Suite Plus 2008 solution portfolio, solutions that the company anticipates will be huge successes with household consumers and its partner community.
The Islandia, N.Y.-based company is offering its home and home office security products through its Internet Service Provider (ISP) partners as well as through the CA Web site. CA will also begin selling through the retail channel starting next month with retailers that include, TigerDirect.com, Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples and Wal-Mart, and others.
George Kafkarkou, senior vice-president of worldwide home small office at CA, says CA’s go-to-market strategy is an all-inclusive model that encourages global coverage and visibility within the market place.
“We provide world-class global protection to our consumers,” Kafkarkou said. “You’d be surprised at how many consumers still aren’t protected. We encourage [all] consumers to have something like our security suite installed in their computers to better protect themselves. We also provide consumers with free daily signature level updates with their subscription,” he said.
To help reach customers across the globe, Kafkarkou says CA relies heavily on its partner community to provide solutions and market visibility. Spanning CA’s partner ecosystem are channel partners, which include distributors, resellers and retailers, OEM partners that include ISPs and independent software vendors (ISVs) and system builders, as well as service and consulting partners.
“It’s our role to cater to as many partner groups that we can in the market so we can help protect our consumers worldwide,” Kafkarkou said.
Along with providing world-class protection, Kafkarkou says partners are also offered world-class support from CA in the form of training and other support services.
“We look for partners who are credible and who can service our consumers,” Kafkarkou said. “We only have interest in partners who can provide value to our consumers.”
In terms of market opportunities, Kafkarkou says there are plenty of opportunities for partners to take advantage of in the consumer market space. He advises partners to establish and maintain a trusting bond with the customer to ensure future transactions.
CA’s Internet Security Suite Plus 2008 solutions offers users protection against online threats to ensure safety and stability in the home Internet space.
Some features include anti-spyware, anti-virus and anti-spam capabilities, in addition to anti-phishing protection. With Internet Security Suite Plus 2008, parental controls are also integrated into the solution with the option of creating up to 10 different password-protected user profiles. The MSRP for Internet Security Suite Plus 2008 is U.S.$69.99 for a three-user license and one-year subscription. Also included in the 2008 line up are CA Anti-Spam Plus CA Website Inspector 2008 and CA Anti-Virus Plus CA Anti-Spyware 2008 products.
CA has only been in the consumer space for the past few years, but despite its relatively short time in this market, Kafkarkou says CA has grown at exponential rates mostly because of its attention to the quality and performance of its products.
“With CA products, we only require a very small amount of memory on a computer in order to operate,” he said. “Other competitors’ software often take a huge chunk of memory up and this slows things down. We’ve been able to save on computer space because we’ve built our products from the ground up to cater to consumer needs.”
CA remains optimistic and hopeful that the new releases of its Internet security and desktop management solutions for the home and home office space will quickly take flight in all areas of the world.
“CA will continue to provide world-class protection for the biggest corporations and government bodies in the world,” Kafkarkou said. “We’ll also continue to provide this same level of protection to our consumers as well.”
