CDW Canada has appointed a new vice president and general manager.
J.D. Hupp has been promoted to the position, and will report to Christine Leahy, senior vice president and international and chief legal officer at CDW Corp. based in Vernon Hills, Ill.
In the new position, the executive will lead CDW’s Canadian arm, which was previously overseen by Mary Ann Yule. She joined HP Inc. Canada last month as its managing director, replacing retiring Lloyd Bryant.
In this role, Hupp will be responsible for strategic direction and performance as well as oversee sales, services and support organizations.
Most recently, he was the director of sales for CDW Canada, a position he held for more than eight years. According to CDW, he was responsible for developing national sales programs and establishing regional sales teams to improve customer service and drive growth in the corporate, federal government, healthcare and education sectors.
Hupp has spent his entire professional career at CDW after graduating from Ohio University in Athens.
With a revenue of between $550-$600M, CDW, with offices in Mississauga and Etobicoke, ON, was no. 1 for the second consecutive year on CDN’s Top 100 Solution Providers list, which ranks Canadian IT providers based on their previous years’ performance.
Hupp’s appointment comes at a time when CDW Canada was award the Top Performance Award from Avnet Technology Solutions for its success in the channel over the past year. The company also captured the Excellence in Operations Award for delivering market-leading operational excellence supporting Microsoft technology over the past year.
