After a 15-year long career with networking giant Cisco Systems, Luanne Tierney has left the company to join Juniper Networks.
Tierney joins Juniper as its new vice-president of Global Partner Marketing, a role she also held while working at Cisco.
At Juniper, Tierney will be responsible for leading Juniper’s Partner Program and its global partner marketing organization. She will report to Juniper’s executive vice-president and chief marketing officer, Lauren Flaherty.
“I am delighted to have a dynamic powerhouse like Luanne joining our team,” Flaherty said. “Her innovative approach to marketing and her ability to inspire will help Juniper accelerate our profile as an industry and thought leader.”
While she was at Cisco, Tierney was responsible for the strategic initiatives of more than 13,000 partners. Here, she kept them up to date on the latest marketing trends, and taught them how to take on a more strategic approach.
In a prepared statement from Cisco, company spokesperson, Gareth Pettigrew, said “Cisco can confirm that Luanne Tierney, vice-president of marketing in our Worldwide Partner Organization has decided to leave Cisco to pursue an executive opportunity with another company. We wish Luanne well with her future endeavors. Luanne built a strong partner marketing team and drove innovation, creativity and great programs. Our commitment to partner marketing and our partner marketing strategy remains unchanged.”
In a previous interview with CDN, Tierney said “Marketing is an asset for growth and it helps to create demand. Partners want help in taking advantage of marketing techniques with things like Web sites and social media.”
On Twitter, Tierney confirmed she will join Juniper on February 7.
