Just days after rival Hewlett-Packard Co. released a new entry-level workstation and several new workstation-optimized displays, Dell is calling attention to its own upcoming workstation offerings.
They won’t launch until an undisclosed date later in the year, but Dell wants to call attention to the upcoming Dell Precision M3800 workstation, which it describes as having a “brand new form factor.” According to Dell, it’s a mobile workstation that, at 18mm, is less than ¾ of an inch thin, weighing in at 4.5lbs.
According to Dell, the M3800 has a Quad HD+ display with 3200×1800 pixel density IGZO panel with multi-touch as standard on all systems. It’s powered by Nvidia Quadro K1100M graphics and Intel’s 4th generation Core i7 Quad Core CPU.

Also upcoming is the Dell UltraSharp 32 monitor with Ultra HD resolution. Optimized for Dell’s Precision workstations and designed for use by media and entertainment professionals, animators, game and app developers, modelers and programs, it boasts Ultra HD 3840×2160 resolution, IGZO screen technology, a wide color gamut with 1.07 billion colors, and total color control with the Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution software.
Both offerings are scheduled for a late 2013 release; pricing information is unavailable.
