Nexsan Technologies, a secure storage vendor based in Woodcliff, Calif., has released Assureon NX, an archive appliance disk-based solution for long-term storage.
Assureon NX is a rackable appliance that is plug-and-play. Assureon NX has self healing disk-based archiving appliance for storing fixed content information, for interfacing with email archiving, medical imaging and records management, document management, e-discovery and other software applications.
According to Dianne McAdam, director, enterprise information assurance at Clipper Group, said small enterprise, branch office and departmental users often have the same requirements for long-term storage as their enterprise counterparts. The Assureon NX is a product that fits their storage needs.
Philip Black, CEO of Nexsan, said Nexsan has responded to the needs of reseller partners who want a secure, affordable disk-based archive platform to integrate with 3rd party applications such as email and other specialized archiving applications.
Assureon NX relies on Content Addressable Storage (CAS) technology to protect data integrity and perform file-level de-duplication to reduce the costs of archiving business-critical information. While it does not include the content search functionality of the Assureon SA, the Assureon NX delivers higher usable storage capacity. It includes features such as built-in Lifecycle Management functions, immutable file authentication and remote replication across the WAN for disaster recovery purposes.
