Enter the PaaSLane for Amazon Web Services

Boston-based cloud provider Cloud Technology Partners has developed a beta program called PaaSLane for application migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) that enables continuous optimization for AWS platform.

Cloud Technology Partners is currently offering PaaSLane as a free beta. The solution automatically assess application readiness for AWS, while analyzing the source code of an application to identify issues that could impact the performance, scalability, stability or security of an application running on AWS.

The model for PaaSLane, according to Cloud Technology Partners, is to reduce the time and effort to optimize applications for AWS, accelerating migration by at least 25 per cent. Solution providers can take a look at PaaSLane by signing up at www.paaslane.com/aws

PaaSLane for AWS also analyses Java source code, evaluating it for compatibility with AWS and making specific recommendations for how to optimize the code to run on AWS. The AWS edition has 30+ rules to detect potential issues and optimizations for applications running on AWS, as well as over 160 additional rules to identify a broad range of general cloud application best practices.  The solution can also detect the use of third-party database, message queuing and other services; recommending AWS-native services in order to take advantage of their built-in scalability, stability and performance.

PaaSLane for AWS is a SaaS-based solution that can also be licensed for on-premise usage. The .NET supported version is being planned for early December, the company said.

Just this summer Cloud Technology Partners announced the closing of a $5 million Series B round. The funding, led by Oak Investment Partners, will be used to support the firm’s growth and expansion plans for its professional services and software offerings.

Chris Greendale, founder and CEO of Cloud Technology Partners, said they see a company that has beyond first class people, an unparalleled cloud knowledge base, a Fortune 500 client list to die for, and a great reputation – all of this in an early market.
