As Fujitsu Siemens Computers releases its new line of notebooks with built-in 3G technology, its president and CEO Bernd Bischoff inks a new partnerships with EMC Corp. and Vancouver-based Sierra Wireless.
Sierra Wireless announced that Fujitsu has selected the company’s MC8780 embedded module for integration into the newly launched Lifebook P7230 notebook. The Lifebook P7230 is the first in the product line to migrate to the Sierra Wireless HSUPA module and is expected to begin commercial shipments in Europe this summer.
The EMC strategic alliance was forged to address new customer IT challenges, will create new services frameworks for advanced data centre architectures, as well as major collaboration for supporting technologies.
Additionally, IT Product Services (ITPS), the services arm of Fujitsu Siemens Computers, has joined the EMC Authorized Services Network providing services for specific EMC midrange networked storage solutions.
Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman, President and CEO, said customers are rapidly moving to next-generation IT architectures and they’re demanding best-of-breed technologies that are integrated and well-supported. Together, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC will deliver information infrastructure solutions that meet customer needs and help customers exploit new technologies to improve business efficiencies.
Bischoff added that his company was taking one of the strongest partnerships in the industry, and bringing it to a new level for the benefit of our customers. EMC’s excellent levels of customer service are known across the industry – so it is a huge endorsement for our ITPS division to be entrusted with servicing specific EMC midrange networked storage solutions.
