PC killers? Will smartphones and TVs join forces?
ZD Net
Jason Hiner hypothesizes what the future of smartphones in the workplace could look like.
“As these smartphones get faster and more sophisticated they will also be able to contain within them a complete software image of a virtual desktop (running Windows, Mac, Linux, Chrome OS, or whatever), similar to what vendors like MokaFive are already offering. This will enable the smartphones to act like full-fledged PCs when connected to bigger screens and other peripherals – at work, at home, at the coffee shop, at conferences, wherever. Once the smartphones have that capability, they will become the primary computing device for each individual.”
Small Businesses Love Apple iPad

Dave Courbanou writes about the iPad in the small business market.
“Techaisle says that small businesses enjoy using the iPad for demos, presentations, and e-mails. In addition, ‘data capture’ for field workers and ‘roaming’ customer service professions has been made easier with the device. Techaisle then nails another reason we’re excited about cloud. Techaisle says ‘notebooks, netbooks, Tablet PCs, and smart phones will coexist in an environment where data and information is being increasingly stored and access via the cloud.'”

The VAR Guy outlines how partners can benefit from the cloud.
“Shift from traditional hardware to hardware as a service (HaaS), professional services, storage, backup and disaster recovery services, Vendor Management: Take control of customer relationships with phone companies, copier companies, broadband companies. We’re all doing that management and we’re not taking control of it. Focus on vendor management and take control of that client’s data infrastructure. Customers want to deal with one person. Who do you want that one person to be?”
