“Under promise and over deliver. As IT professionals we love to develop solutions and are often overly optimistic about how long it will take us to get work done. How many times have you been confident about the work in front of you when you get hit with a gotcha-the new technology is more complicated than you anticipated; your lead developer just went out on an extended medical leave; or the vendor is not delivering what they promised? You then find yourself informing your customer that you will be late on the project. How about anticipating that there will be some type of gotcha along the way and extending the timeline beyond what you think you can deliver?”
Plenty Of Companies Would Consider Going Virtual To Save Money

“Apparently, with the current financial crisis, a lot of companies are beginning to reassess whether they really need a physical office at all. A new study found that 43 per cent of small and mid-sized businesses would consider going completely virtual in order to help deal with the current economy.”
Beta 2 of Vista SP2 now available to anyone

“As of December 4, anyone can download the latest test versions of SP2, which may be applied to both Vista and Windows Server 2008. SP1 is a prerequisite for the Beta 2 versions of SP2. The final versions of Vista/Windows Server 2008 SP2 is expected in the first half of next year.”
