HP Inc. has unveiled several new enterprise-level computers with above industry-grade security features.
The company has released its HP EliteDesk 800 series, a line of new commercial desktops, and HP EliteOne 800 AiO (all-in-one) as part of its revamped secure and manageable PC lineup for the younger working generation.
“The millennial workforce is clamoring for sexy devices that inspire creativity and an open exchange of ideas, and employers are demanding technology that looks beautiful in their open floor plans yet are powerful and secure with no barriers to their employees’ productivity,” says Alex Cho, vice president and general manager of commercial PCs at HP Inc., in a Mar. 7 press release. “The newest lineup of Elite desktops and AiOs reflects the vision of a business while reflecting the desires of employees, pairing beautiful designs with exciting features and performance that meet and exceed security requirements critical to all business environments.”
The all new EliteDesk 800 G3 Tower is “the world’s most powerful commercial desktop, the world’s most configurable commercial desktop, and is the first VR-certified commercial PC,” HP says, which it describes as “perfect for companies wanting to future-proof their technology and deliver state-of-the-art capabilities.”
It boasts a 26 per cent smaller chassis, five bays and four full-height slots, plus two addition M.2 connectors and several configurable ports. It also comes with seventh generation Intel Core processors, multi-factor authentication and password managers, as well as optional 91W processors, and optional high-end discrete graphics for virtual reality content.
The smaller EliteDesk 800 G3 Desktop Mini is ideal for users concerned with space constraints or who want to hide a desktop behind their monitor. It is “the world’s smallest business-class desktop,” with a nearly zero footprint, “and is HP’s most durable ultra-small form factor business-class desktop,” the company adds.
It comes with the same processor features as its bigger sibling, as well as 35W and 65W power models.
And going even smaller, the EliteDesk 800 G3 Desktop Mini 65W is “the desktop mini on steroids” and is targeted at customers who are “tight on space but big on productivity.”
All three are available now starting at $829 (US dollars). Canadian values are unavailable at this time.
Moving on to HP’s newly redesigned EliteOne 800 G3 AiO, the first commercial AiO with dual-facing cameras and non-glare touch screen, it is “the perfect companion to greet customers or to easily collaborate with others.” It features a micro-edge bezel screen, seventh generation Intel Core processors, noise cancellation software and audio boosters, as well as multi-factor authentication. It is also available now with a starting price of $1,049.
All four devices also come with built-in security out of the box, including “the world’s first and only self-healing BIOS-level protection with SureStart Gen3 with Runtime Intrusion Detection and recently announced HP WorkWise, the world’s first Smartphone App for PC Tamper Detection,” HP says.
