IBM Canada Ltd. is about to announce a seven-year IT services agreement with Rogers Communications, one of Canada’s largest wireless carrier and cable provider.
This deal could lead to many sub-contracted deals with IBM business partners in the channel. No details have been made available to CDN about this.
Mike Boden, spokesperson for IBM Canada told CDN that the subsidiary currently is unable to release details of the deal and that there is no work going to partners at the moment.
CDN has contacted IBM Canada and will keep updating this story as developments occur.
IBM will support Rogers’ ongoing information technology transformation with a stable and highly available IT environment. To accommodate future growth, Rogers will have immediate access to IBM’s state-of-the-art data centre located outside Toronto. This will be linked to Rogers’ existing data centre facility using Rogers Business Services networking technology. IBM will also upgrade Rogers’ existing data centre facilities and storage capabilities over the next several years.
Aspects of the services include a smart centre for environmentally friendly IT infrastructure, according to IBM Canada.
