Ingram Micro Canada of Mississauga, Ont. announced it has appointed Deborah Brown as director of marketing.
Brown will lead Ingram Micro’s Canadian marketing efforts and she is being tasked to identify new ways to market within and for the IT industry. Also, as a member of Ingram Micro Canada’s executive team, she will contribute to the company’s overall strategic direction in Canada.
Brown will report to Carol Kurimsky, vice-president marketing, North America for Ingram Micro, based in Santa Ana, Calif.
“I’m delighted to have someone with Deborah’s experience join the team,” said Kurimsky in a prepared statement.
“Her previous experience in both technology and distribution marketing should result in strong marketing programs for our reseller and customer partners.”
Brown brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to the role and has a background in strategic and tactical planning, distribution channel management and increased brand recognition and market share expansion through end-user-focused marketing programs. Her experience includes key sales and marketing management positions in several leading technology companies. Immediately prior to joining Ingram Micro Canada, Brown was director of marketing for MCI Canada, where she was responsible for overall strategic marketing direction and for driving awareness of its position as a communications provider in the Canadian market place.
“I’m looking forward to working with our marketing team to put forward programs, services and initiatives that deliver meaningful results to our clients and business partners” said Brown. “By maintaining our focus on partner enablement we will realize our vision of becoming the number one technology marketing agency for the IT channel.”
CDN Now will be interviewing Brown next week and will be publishing a follow up story on her plans for the Canadian market.
