Ingram Micro Inc. has created a Windows 8 solutions featuring technology such as tablets and touch screen products, as well as notebooks, desktops, workstations and servers.
The North American operation of Ingram Micro is also training its sales, marketing and technical support teams around Windows 8.
As expected, Ingram will be taking a collaborative, multi-vendor solutions approach to the marketing and sales around Windows 8 to help solution providers position, demo and sell the new technology in the field.
One example of this is Ingram has trained more than 400 associates in North America alone on the Window 8 and Windows Server.
Ingram Micro is also providing demonstration units running on the Windows 8 OS for channel partners, and has collaborated with Microsoft and a number of its hardware manufacturers to develop and deploy Windows 8 environment within each of its Solution Centers located in Buffalo, N.Y. and Santa Ana, Calif.
The Ingram Micro Marketing Services Agency is launching a Windows 8 go-to-market plan that touches each division and business unit within the distributor’s North American organization and offers customizable, multi-vendor marketing materials around Windows 8, as well as end-user lead generation to channel partners.
Meanwhile November will see the distributor kick off its multi-vendor Windows “Experience Tour” throughout North America. The tour will focus on educating channel partners on how to best market, sell and support touch screen solutions.
