Lenovo took the opportunity at gamescom to unveil two new gaming PCs designed for high-end gaming and virtual reality applications. The new IdeaCentre Y710 Cube and IdeaCentre AIO Y910 desktop PCs provide Lenovo partners with an option for addressing the growing need for high-performance gaming PCs.
The AIO Y910 has an all-in-one form factor designed to take up less room than bulkier towers. The entire PC is built into a 27-inch quad high-definition borderless display, with the intention of cutting down on hardware and cable sprawl that is typically an annoyance most PC gamers have become accustomed to dealing with.
Designed to be VR-ready, the Y910 provides NVIDIA’s latest GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 460 graphics, up to 6th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and up to 2TB HDD or up to 256GB SSD. According to Lenovo, the all-in-one design makes it simple to set up and begin playing games right out of the box.
Even with its all-in-one design, though, the Y910 was crafted to be easily upgradable thanks to a detachable back panel.
The Y710 Cube was developed with gamers on the go in mind. The Cube comes equipped with a built-in carry handle so gamers can transport it between gaming stations (or to and from LAN parties). The 7.4 kg unit includes NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080 graphics, up to 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM to handle 4K and VR gaming and applications.
The Y710 also features up to a 2TB HDD or up to 256GB SSD, Killer DoubleShot Pro Wi-Fi, Windows 10 Home and the option to get an integrated Xbox One wireless receiver with a single Xbox One controller.
“With VR, live streaming and lifelike visuals that dwarf consoles, PC gamers have completely new ways to experience and immerse themselves in games today,” said Johnson Jia, senior vice president of the PC and smart device business group at Lenovo, in a statement. “Our new IdeaCentre Y710 Cube and IdeaCentre AIO Y910 gaming desktops are the products of years of listening to the growing ways and places in which gamers choose to play, giving them even more freedom with these unique, space-saving forms.”
The Y710 Cube begins shipping this month, with higher-end models surfacing in September. The AIO Y910 begins shipping next month.
