Microsoft: “We are done with Yahoo”

Paul Boutin gives Microsoft’s latest thoughts on acquiring Yahoo.
“”We are done with all acquisition deals with Yahoo … We did our best. We’ve moved on.” In business, this often means: We’ll be back. For now, though, (Microsoft CEO, Steve) Ballmer said he’d rather cut a deal to serve Live Search results to Yahoo users – as a vendor, not an owner.”
Cisco had surprising calendar year 3Q08 market share loss in service provider routers

“According to Shin Umeda – the Dell’Oro Group router analyst, ‘Our Service Provider Router Market report showed a significant slowdown in sales for the third quarter. Cisco continued to be the top ranked vendor, but the company’s revenue declined 10 per cent sequentially, and their market share dropped from 57 per cent to 51per cent. The next four vendors in the rankings, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, and Redback each gained share.’”
iPhone 3G coming to Walmart, Sam’s Club Dec. 28

Andrew Nusca writes about two other stores that will begin selling Apple’s iPhone next month.
“Walmart will begin selling Apple’s iPhone 3G on December 28th in select locations, eventually expanding to 2,500 stores, according to BoyGeniusReport. Sam’s Club gets in on the action too, with 69 locations offering the handset on the 28th. Some stores will reportedly get live demo units to display, similar to those at Best Buy Mobile. No word on pricing for the iPhone, which will probably stay that way until holiday shopping is over.”
