GFI Business Solutions Inc., a CDN Top 100 Solution Provider and IT consulting services company, has changed its name to ACCEO Solutions Inc. This name change follows last March’s buyout of the French company GFI Informatique by a body of local shareholders.
The two companies had been affiliated since 2004 and now the new company will be able to actively pursue its development strategy in Canada and across North America.
The new name was inspired by the notions of acceleration, ascent, and accessibility. The name “ACCEO” expresses the company’s recent and future evolution, as well as its desire to offer the kind of expertise and technological solutions that will contribute to the full exploitation of e-business opportunities, the company said in a prepared statement.
Gilles Létourneau, President and CEO of ACCEO, said this brand change represents a major turning point for our company, and it was essential following the end of our partnership with GFI Informatique.
“We have never been in such a prime position to so quickly make our projects a reality. In fact, our financial resources, combined with our talented personnel and unprecedented partnerships, will help us to ably obtain the goals that we have defined.”
ACCEO has close to 1,000 employees working in eight locations across Canada and France. The company generates annual revenues in excess of $100 million. The company works with more than 55,000 clients and owns some 80,000 point-of-sale software licences in Canada.
