Motorola Preparing Managed Services Partner Program

Joe Panettieri writes that according to Janet Schijns, channel chief at Motorola, the company plans on introducing a managed services partner program later this year.
“Motorola plans to start small – with a beta test involving roughly 25 managed service providers late this year. Instead of sprinting into a production offering, Motorola plans to “score card” the beta test to see exactly how partners can best profit from recurring revenue opportunities. Schijns says the beta program will involve channel partners of all sizes.”
Dell Vostro All In One now available in North America

Donald Melanson writes that Dell’s new Vostro all-in-one PC desktop is now available in North America.
“Vostro fans may have been counting down the days since Dell’s new Vostro All In One desktop made its debut in Japan last month, but those not among that select few may still be pleased to know that the system is now finally available in North America, right on schedule. Toshiba planning Blu-ray Disc players, laptops

Martyn Williams writes that Toshiba will be creating players and laptops that will support Blue-ray Discs later this year.
“In a brief statement Toshiba said it had applied for membership for the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), the standards setting and licensing body behind the format and would launch products before the end of 2009. ‘In light of recent growth in digital devices supporting the Blu-ray format, combined with market demand from consumers and retailers alike, Toshiba has decided to join the BDA,’ it said.”
