SAP Canada has named a new managing director.
Andy Canham will assume the role after previously serving less than a year as SAP Canada’s chief operating officer. He will replace John Graham, who had been Canada’s managing director since January 2016 and will be moving to the US for a new role within SAP.
While Canham is new to SAP, he has more than two decades worth of leadership experience. The University of Toronto graduate was most recently the co-founder and partner at managed service provider Eclipsys Solutions, while his resume also boasts executive positions at Vital Insights, Oracle Corp., Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM Canada.
“It’s an exciting time to work at SAP Canada,” Canham says in a Jan. 8 company press release. “Digital transformation is creating tremendous opportunity for companies of all sizes across all industries, and SAP is at the centre of it. We’re helping many of Canada’s leading companies, government agencies and academic institutions innovate and thrive in this digital era, and the best is yet to come.”
As COO since April 2017, Canham oversaw the overall Canadian business and planned for its long-term strategic success, which included its partnership strategy, presales and operations for cloud, and on-premise solutions. As managing director, he will be in charge of helping the company’s more than 13,800 Canadian customers drive growth using SAP’s cloud, mobile, and database solutions.
“Andy quickly made his mark on the Canadian business,” DJ Paoni, president of North America Sales at SAP, explains in the release. “He has a proven history of guiding high-performing teams, and I’m confident he will build upon the strong team and foundation we have in the region.”
SAP, a Germany-based enterprise software company, has offices in Toronto, Calgary, and Ottawa, as well as research and development labs in Montreal, Toronto, Waterloo and Vancouver. This year, the company has topped Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work in Canada Employee’s Choice list.
