Lenovo had a record setting year in 2013. The company officially became the global leader in personal computing. IDC stats showed Lenovo grew faster than the market as well as faster than HP and Dell.
In Canada, Stefan Bockhop, director of channel sales for Lenovo Canada, built on the company’s momentum in the market place by collaborating with Mississauga, Ont.-based distributor Tech Data Canada to expand Lenovo Partner Credit program.
The two companies extend financing terms to small-to-medium business solution providers in Canada. The program helped eligible resellers with up to 60 days of interest free credit by extending indirect financing through distributors that now includes Tech Data Canada in addition to previously announced Supercom and Synnex.
That wasn’t the only thing Bockhop had to talk to channel partners about. In 2013, it was revealed the Lenovo was in the smartphone business. It was Bockhop who addressed the marketplace saying there are no plans, no timeline and no consideration for bringing a Lenovo smartphone to Canada.
