Ottawa-based solution provider HostedBizz Inc. has acquired cloud solutions provider ITUtility.Net in order to boost the overall strength of its cloud IT portfolio.
The cloud infrastructure as a service provider will be adding ITUtility’s portfolio of cloud solutions built around Microsoft’s offerings. Those include Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business, and Dynamics. This allows for any mid-size customer to run the entirety of their business through HostedBizz cloud offerings.
“The addition of the ITUtility.Net product portfolio is a strategic move that builds on our momentum as Canada’s fastest growing Cloud IT provider, and provides our customers with a fully integrated and professionally managed service for all of their infrastructure needs,” said HostedBizz co-founder Paul Butcher in a statement.
The deal, which took six weeks to complete, will expand HostedBizz’s reach out of Ottawa. ITUtility’s founders won’t be staying with the company, but two employees based in Ottawa will transition to the HostedBizz offices, and two more will remain in Toronto – the firm’s first employees outside of the capital.
“We believe that having a broad portfolio of solutions in today’s cloud IT market is critical for our channel partners and this acquisition allows HostedBizz to offer the broadest suite of services in the Canadian market,” said HostedBizz co-founder Jim Stechyson.
“We welcome the talented ITUtility.Net team to HostedBizz and look forward to pooling our resources to continue the phenomenal growth that HostedBizz has achieved.”
