Brother Mobile Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of printer vendor Brother International, said its going to team up with independent software vendor Niceware International of Brookfield, Wisc.
Niceware is going to provide Brother with barcode ID and tracking label solutions.
According to a report, the initial project offers a turn-key solution for manufacturers – pairing the Brother PT-9700 industrial desktop label printer series and thermal transfer laminated labels with NiceLabel Designer Pro and PowerForms series. This solution is intended for creating complex industry-compliant barcode ID labels that are durable, error free, and generated on demand at the point of use.
Dave Crist, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Brother Mobile Solutions, said the tape technology and laminated, thermal transfer labels are a critical part of the solution and a key driver of the Brother-Niceware alliance.
He added that today’s manufacturers require highly durable, on-demand label printing operating on a 24/7 basis to keep production lines running continuously. NiceLabel software and custom middleware solutions address complex interface and tracking needs while Brother printers and tapes meet the high speed, performance demands of tough manufacturing environments. These solutions are suited to manufacturing environments where everything from circuit boards to large chemical drums will be labeled.
Niceware’s expertise is in automatic identification data capture and distributes custom middleware and packaged software solutions that allow integration with server-based ERP systems.
The desktop barcode and label printers will be sold within Niceware and Brother Mobile Solutions distribution channels in Canada and the U.S.
