Microhoo or Yahsoft? Microsoft/Yahoo! merger deal bid is on again
Computer World
Richi Jennings provides some bloggers’ thoughts on the rumoured Microsoft-Yahoo! merger deal.
“The Microsoft/Yahoo! merger deal bid is rumored to be on again. In IT Blogwatch, bloggers go back to asking if we should call the new company Microhoo or Yahsoft.”
Microhoo! deal! back! on! Again?

John Oates writes how a merger would affect Microsoft and Yahoo! if the bid were to go through.
“The deal would allow Microsoft to take over Yahoo!’s search business in exchange for several billion dollars while Yahoo! would sell display ads for both firms. Any deal is likely to look pretty sweet to Microsoft compared to the $44.6 billion that it was offering for the firm – Yahoo’s market cap is now $22.6 billion.”

Bobbie Johnson writes where Google fits into the equation.
“With (Microsoft and Yahoo!’s) chief rival, Google, appearing not only increasingly powerful but also apparently immune to the worst effects of the recession, things could be changing once again. Microsoft’s attempt to claw back market share with its re-launched search engine – now called Bing – has failed to make immediate inroads, leaving the Windows giant still looking for a way to make its mark in the industry.”
