Apple may be marketing its Watch as a high-end piece of digital jewelry, but that hasn’t stopped enterprise software developers from exploring its productivity potential.
Cloud provider Salesforce has announced that its Salesforce1 Mobile App and a new Salesforce Analytics Cloud App would be coming to the Apple Watch, while a Salesforce Wear Developer Pack is now available.
According to Salesforce, Analytics Cloud, which is currently available for the iPhone in the App Store, is able to draw data from a variety of sources and visualize it on a mobile screen. It allows for granular views of original datasets, performance metrics, forecasts and more.
Meanwhile, Salesforce1, available for both iPhone and Android, is targeted at salespeople and marketers, providing them with notifications and actions on business priorities.
“Sales managers can receive a discount approval request and take action right from the watch. Customer service managers can receive alerts if a critical case is escalated or if call wait times are about to exceed thresholds. Digital marketers can be alerted when a marketing campaign surpasses a goal. And employees can receive updates on key topics they follow in their communities,” Salesforce said in a statement.
Both apps would be recreated on the wrist and available upon the launch of the Apple Watch, which is slated for April 24, while the company promised Salesforce1 notifications should be available in Q3 2015.
