Hosted enterprise software vendor Salesforce.com has been on a buying-spree in Canada of late, reports Wallace Immen of The Globe and Mail:
”The latest Canadian example is Halifax-based GoInstant, acquired in July for a figure reportedly north of $70-million. It’s the second east coast startup and the fourth Canadian company acquired in the past two years by California-based Salesforce.com.”

Must be something in the water up here, perhaps. When Salesforce.com chairman Frank van Veenendaal visited Toronto in June. ITBusiness.ca‘s Christine Wong reported he pledged to increase its 1,000 staff in Canada by 50 per cent within the next year.
