You wouldn’t normally think of BlackBerry’s soft-spoken German CEO as a trash-talker, but Thorsten Heins has been getting more aggressive since the vendor launched the Z10 smartphone and the BlackBerry 10 OS in late January.
Since the launch, the Waterloo, Ont.-based vendor seems to have rediscovered a dose of its swagger. And in a recent interview with The Australian Financial Review, Heins had a few interesting observations about the smartphone market, and about rival Apple in particular.

Among his comments? Recent launches from Blackberry and Samsing (the Galaxy S4) have the smartphone market leaving Apple in its wake, Apple’s interface was great but it’s now five years old, BlackBerry is better at multitasking, and BlackBerry will have 100,00 apps in its app store when the Z10 launches in the U.S. later this week.
Heinz is not the only person pointing this out, ZDNet has an interesting article on why the apple interface is stale and what they need to do to catch up. Sadly most of the catching up can’t be accomplished without a multitasking OS and as you can imagine, the feedback from Apple users is not pretty.
