Contax, a Toronto-based SAP partner with offices in Montreal, Chicago and Davenport, Iowa, is adding one more location to that list: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
The solution provider, which focused on SAP-based solutions for the small and medium-sized business market, has opened an office on the Island, hired its first local employee and is looking to immediately hire five more skilled IT professionals, including SAP professionals and those with a technical background in science or engineering.
“We are looking forward to investing in Prince Edward Island and the people here,” said Contax president Michael Pearson, in a statement. “We are grateful that the Government of Prince Edward Island is open to working with and supporting IT organizations like ours. With its investment, our future employees will have access to outstanding training programs and a great quality of life in the province.”
As part of the labour rebate program delivered by Innovation PEI, the province’s economic development agency, Contax will add 37 jobs in the coming years and, based on the number of jobs created, receive up to $675,000 in funding.
“Accelerating growth in key sectors of our economy such as information technology is a priority for the provincial government,” said Allen Roach, PEI’s minister of innovation and advanced learning. “This is an excellent opportunity for talented IT and business professionals to gain valuable employment in Prince Edward Island.”
