Tony Smith writes that Asus will be releasing its MacBook Air-style Eee PC 1008HA notebook next week in the U.K. Wonder if we’ll see this coming to North America too?
“This 10-inch ‘user-centric blend of timeless design and effortless mobility’ … weighs just 1.1kg and is no more than an inch thick. Inside, there’s a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N280 processor, 1GB of DDR 2 memory, a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP on it, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 1024 x 600 display and SRS Surround Sound audio.”

Joe Panettieri recaps some raw VAR stats here that have come out of this year’s Ingram Micro Seismic Partner Conference in Dallas, Tex.
“ In North America, there are roughly: 80,000 to 120,000 VARs and resellers, 8,000 to 12,000 of those VARs/resellers have transitioned to managed service providers and 800 to 1,200 of those VARs are doing managed services really, really well.”
