Acer’s Switch 10 is basically a 10-inch tablet. However, with a quick snap of it magnetic latches, the device quickly transforms into a laptop.
The Switch 10 will soon be available in Canada for around $380. The device runs on an Itnel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor. It ships with Windows 8.1.
The Switch 10’s snap-on magnetic latches draws inspiration from the magnetic snap-on soft keyboard found in Microsoft’s Surface tablet.

However, the Surface keyboard still requires a kickstand to fully secure it to the tablet device.

Lenovo also sells the Flex and Yoga hybrids which they call multi-mode devices. The displays on these units, however, are hardwired to their respective keyboards.
Acer also offers an optional keyboard for the Switch 10 which will have additional memory.
Acer also announced a Chromebook powered by Intel’s Core i3 processor. Most Chromebooks use the slower Celeron 2955U processor.
With the weakening of the PC market, Acer is focusing on producing more tablet devices and smartphones, according to Jason Chen, CEO of the company.
The company is also coming out with four new laptop models, two low-priced Android tablets and a several all-in-one PCs.
