Tech Data Canada isn’t done yet – today the Mississauga, Ont.-based distributor announced real-time consumption and budgeting tools for Microsoft Azure through its Cloud Solutions Store and StreamOne cloud platform.
The upgrades, which launched last month in the United States and Europe, will ideally help solution providers and managed service providers (MSPs) better understand Azure. This is primarily being done through an analytics dashboard on StreamOne that displays real-time Azure consumption.
Through the dashboard, users can monitor their end-customers Azure usage, provide monthly tracking and usage predictions, and help keep track of the overall budget.
“Our goal through our entire cloud practice is to reduce the complexity associated with either moving from an on-premises practice to a cloud-based model, or if you’re already dabbling in the cloud to expand that practice,” said Irene Buchan, director of marketing and Tech Data Cloud in an interview with CDN.
“All of the functionality and tools that we continuously add into the Cloud Solutions Store and StreamOne are aimed at reducing that complexity. Having real-time visibility on Azure is a great step in that direction.”
While these new enhancements may not fully alleviate concerns about cloud billing, Tech Data believes that these upgrades can fill a gap by providing the tools necessary to to be that consultant for an end-user. Since the real-time consumption tools give predictive analysis, end-users can better understand what solutions work best for them, and what they should and shouldn’t be paying for.
These real-time consumption upgrades come just a month after Tech Data added new vendor solutions for solution providers and MSPs, as well as even more enhancements.
