Tech Data Canada has inked an agreement with Microsoft to offer Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA), hosted software and services through Tech Data’s Software Business Unit.
Greg Myers, vice president, marketing at Tech Data Canada, said Tech Data’s software business unit is able to offer service providers and ISVs the only volume licensing program for Microsoft software licensing and services for commercial hosting.
SPLA is designed to enhance sell-through to a wider set of customers by offering customized solutions through additional capabilities such as outsourcing data centre services, customer facility installations and academic offerings.
Anne De Aragon, SMB Lead at Microsoft Canada, said Tech Data’s SPLA reseller agreement reiterates their strong orientation to Cloud–based computing and sets them up well to take advantage of helping customers procure the right solutions for their business whether that be on-premise, in the Cloud or through 3rd Party hosting.
Myers added that the hosting market grew at 24 per cent in Canada in 2012, and that Tech Data Canada expect to see continued growth this year.
Microsoft SPLA is for organizations focused on software services and hosted applications for end-customers, including messaging, collaboration and platform infrastructure. Resellers can demo the product for up to 50 active users.
