NATIONAL HARBOR, MD. — While a number of channel program and product enhancements were announced at business software vendor Sage North America‘s recent partner and user conference, the announcement that generated the most buzz amongst attendees was an ambitious rebranding strategy.
The strategy will see historic Sage product names such as Simple, PeachTree and Accpac disposed of by 2013, replaced by generic branding and numbering based on market segment. Instead, the vendor will focus on building the overall Sage brand.
Tom Miller, vice-president of channel management for Sage North America, sat down with CDN to discuss the rebranding, what it will mean for Sage’s channel partners, and opportunities for the channel in the cloud.
