According to CDW IT Monitor’s most recent index last month, IT decision makers continue to show signs of hope for the IT marketplace.
The bi-monthly index found that the number of respondents who believe their overall IT budgets will increase in the next six months increased by 15 percentage points from December 2007 to February 2008. In addition, six per cent of small businesses said they are expecting to expand their IT staff within the next six months.
Mark Gambill, vice-president of CDW, said the closing of this gap may be the result of the idea that technology is becoming of more value to businesses.
“Even with 2008 budgets approved and IT decision makers looking forward to improving IT resources in the coming months,” Gambill said, “the green-lighting of actual technology investments will depend on the overall economic environment, which remains uncertain.”
The next release of CDW IT Monitor will be available in April and is based on an online survey with a sample group of at least 1,000 IT decision markers across businesses and government sectors of all sizes.
