From the “are you sure it’s not April 1st” files comes news that rock and roll legend Chubby Checker is suing a major technology vendor and an app developer for $500 million over an app that attempts to deduce the size of a man’s penis based on his shoe size, called the “Chubby Checker.”
And how’s this for a twist? The app was for the Palm OS platform.
Checker is suing Hewlett-Packard Co., who bought Palm and briefly supported the platform, as well as the app’s developer, claiming “irreparable damage and harm” to the singer’s reputation caused by the 99 cent app, which was removed from all HP and Palm listings in September of 2012.
HP acquired Palm for $10.2 billion in 2010. If Checker has its way, the acquisition may prove even more costly.
