MSI’s 15.6-inch P600 gives a Core i5 to those ‘business folks’
Engadget
Darren Murph writes about MSI’s new P600 PC product, designed with business users in mind.
“The understated (MSI P600) 15.6-incher sports a fancy new Core i5 processor, the company’s own ECO Engine (for saving power when you’re not taxing the system), a battery good for eight hours, biometric fingerprint reader for keeping those top secret company documents under wraps and a multi-touch trackpad to boot. Since it’s meant for business, you’ll only get an integrated graphics set, but you will find up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 1,366 x 768 resolution panel, a 250/320/500GB hard drive, SD / SDHC / MMC card reader, HDMI / VGA outputs, a pair of USB 2.0 sockets, eSATA, audio in / out, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1.3 megapixel Webcam.”
Can Palm Get A Grip On Its Business?
The VAR Guy
Dave Courbanou writes about Palm’s challenges in the mobile space.
“The biggest problem Palm had this year was the lack of sales. The demand for the Palm Pre, and its ‘sister’ the Pixi, hasn’t been so low, that Palm has been left with a huge amount of excess inventory. And not just a few thousand – over half a million. According to Reuters, Palm shipped 960K units and only put 408K in the pockets of mobile consumers. As a result, Palm’s shares dropped nearly 30 per cent since Thursday and Reuters also reports that Palm has lost half it’s market value since the year began.”

Network World
Irwin Lazar writes about some things to consider regarding unified communications (UC).
“As interest in UC as well as desktop virtualization continues to grow, expect more conflicts within IT shops as plans collide. IT managers should make sure they collaborate on their plans, and perhaps more importantly, work with their UC vendors to understanding their thin-client strategies.”
