Google Subnet writes why a synergy between Google and Twitter could be a good thing for all parties involved.
“Google would get a foothold into one of the hottest social networking sites today, while Twitter could get some deep pockets and savviness in search, the next big foray for the micro-blogging site. Google needs to swoop in now, especially before someone like Microsoft–which has its own search/social networking challenges–shows some interest and starts a bidding war.”

“RIM confirmed that its current user base now totals a whopping 25 million, 3.9 million of which were added in the last quarter alone. Those new users also look to have helped push RIM past even its own best earnings forecasts, with the company reporting fourth quarter revenue of $3.46 billion, or about a 24.5 per cent jump from $2.78 billion of the previous quarter.”

“The NY Times is noting that many people are tiring of voicemail, noting that other options are a lot more efficient and effective for leaving messages for people. And it’s not just anecdotal. The NY Times report above quotes a study that found over 30 per cent of voicemails ‘linger unheard for three days or longer.’”
