ROUND ROCK, TEX. — When Dell opened its Workstation Virtualization Center of Excellence last week at its Texas headquarters, custom performance vehicle manufacturer Shelby American was there — and so was its latest creation.
Parked in the Dell parking lot was the Shelby Raptor. It’s Shelby’s newest truck, and its an example of how Dell’s Precision workstations are being used in the field.
Shelby runs a completely Dell shop –everything but the network cabling, according to IT director Richard Sparkman — and the company used its Dell Precision workstations to dramatically shrink the design phase of its new Raptor truck, and get to production faster.
In this video, Sparkman explains Dell’s role in creating the Raptor, and why Shelby choose to run on Dell.
