TORONTO – CDN presented Lloyd Bryant with its first ever Lifetime Achievement award during last night’s CDN Top 100 Solution Providers Gala.
On Christmas Eve 2015 Lloyd Bryant the managing director of HP Inc. Canada retired after a stellar 35 year career of which 29 were spent at HP.
Bryant had a memorable career at HP Canada and in the IT industry in Canada.
CDN has been covering the IT channel since 1986 and has never presented a lifetime achievement award until now. Bryant is a “true gentleman” in the industry and channel community. During his time at HP Canada the subsidiary consistently outperformed all others in the HP world and at the CDN Top 100 show he gave credit to all the channel partners in the room.
Bryant is truly a special person who is passionate about his company, his co-workers, the channel community and society at large.
He also gained legendary status within the channel community for his battles with head office in the U.S. on behalf of solution providers. Bryant also supported CDN with his time and his support for the CDN Top 100 show. In 2014 Bryant was named CDN’s No. 1 Newsmaker of the Year.
Beyond the office and the marketplace, Bryant also supported many worthwhile causes such as World Wildlife Fund, Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation, RCMP Foundation, and the Electronic Products Recycling Association.
Here is what the channel community had to say about Lloyd Bryant:
Steve Glover of Compugen:
“Lloyd’s role in helping promote the success of Green4Good cannot be understated. Having a company with the environmental reputation that HP has sponsor our program served to quickly establish the necessary credibility needed to ensure success. To date Green4Good has raised close to $2,000,000 in support for over 75 charities across Canada.
Tech Data Canada president Rick Reid described Bryant as a great collaborator, long-time friend, strong reputation, great leader, honest, integrity and focus on not just the business but his family too.
Reid said: “I’ve been in the Canadian IT industry for over 41 years and have had the good fortune of meeting and befriending many wonderful people who I’ll be friends with long after they or I retire. Lloyd is one of them. Tech Data has been fortunate to benefit from his industry knowledge, sense of fair play, humour and strong family values. If only he was a better golfer.”
Congratulations from the CDN team and ITWC to Lloyd Bryant on the Lifetime Achievement award.
