Correlsense, a Framingham, Mass.-based manufacturer of business transaction management software solutions, is expanding its business to Canada with help from a Canadian partner, OnX Enterprise Solutions.
Correlsense is a privately-held company that was founded in 2005, John Reuben, vice-president of sales and marketing, said.
With the recent partnership with Thornhill, Ont.-based IT solution provider OnX, which also ranked as one of CDN’s Top 100 Solution Providers for 2009, the company now does business throughout Canada, the U.S., the United Kingdom and also South Africa.
Reuben said the company has “aggressive goals for Canada,” but wouldn’t go into any more specifics, other than saying, “We’re optimistic and we think we can make significant inroads in Canada.”
The company’s go-to-market strategy includes both direct and indirect sales. From a partner perspective, Reuben said the company’s strategy is to have a “strong, established” partner in each geography.
“We’re not so much looking for partners from a sales perspective, but we’re looking at more of the implementation and support standpoint,” he explained.
In the U.S., Correlsense currently has one channel partner, Maryville Technologies, that helps it go to market.
With the OnX partnership, Reuben said the company is not currently looking for any other partners in Canada because the intent is to form a “strategy and an exclusive partnership with OnX to help build the brand in Canada.”
Jim Langedyk, vice-president of software solutions at OnX, said the partnership with Correlsense will help the company to differentiate its business further in the Canadian market.
“This allows OnX to have a differentiator in the market because it’s something unique and new,” he said. “The SharePath solution from Correlsense allows me to find new customers and also lets me expand the relationships I have with our existing customers. We see this as a huge opportunity for us.”
Among some of its other vendor partnerships, Langedyk said OnX also has relationships with companies such as HP, IBM, and Microsoft, noting the software line of OnX’s business is a primary focus for the company.
“We’ve separated our software line into two lines of business which includes enterprise and maintenance software,’ Langedyk said. “Our traditional lines of business will continue, but with our Correlsense partnership now, I think it’ll represent about 30 per cent of our efforts now.”
Correlsense’s flagship software product, SharePath, is a business transaction management (BTM) platform solution that tracks all transactions of an application in real-time. The solution is designed to provide enterprises with a holistic view of the user-experience throughout the organization’s infrastructure. SharePath allows enterprises to automate the monitoring and management processes of transactions across all tiers of an application, which provides IT visibility and reliability, he added.
While Reuben said the majority of Correlsense’s business comes from the U.S. market right now, he foresees continued expansion and growth outside of the U.S. moving forward.
“I think this will change dramatically this year,” Reuben said. “I see our international growth, which includes Canada, growing 300 to 400 per cent, and probably 80 per cent of that will be driven through channels.”
While there are no foreseeable plans to further build out its Canadian channel community, Reuben said there’s “always the possibility” of adding more partners, if necessary, adding, “we don’t want to rule anything out.”
