Salesforce may often be thought of as an American company, but one would be amiss to ignore the impact the Software-as-a-Service giant has had on the Canadian channel, either directly or indirectly.
In Kitchener, Ont., the company ramped up its work with the startup community through Communitech, essentially offering worthy Canadian efforts the chance to grow and be featured on its cloud platform.
Staying somewhat under the radar, but no doubt involved in these efforts is Dave Borrelli, general manager of commercial sales for Salesforce Canada.
Somewhat overshadowed by more-outspoken CEO Marc Benioff, Borrelli helped implement the company’s updated ISV partner program in Canada to accommodate its growing ecosystem, and will be bringing the Sage Live accounting offering built on the Salesforce1 platform to Canada.
Furthermore, the company launched the Salesforce1 Lighting Components and App Builder, giving Apple Watch a huge vote of confidence in releasing enterprise apps for the wearable. This is all to the backdrop of fighting for marriage equality in Indiana and talking to Microsoft for an acquisition worth $70 billion. It’s likely we’ll see some more big headlines coming in 2016.
