You are probably wondering who is Frank Khulusi. Well, Khulusi is the CEO and founder of PCM Inc. The company was once known as PC Mall. And, while PCM has an office in Montreal it did not necessarily do business in Canada.
That was until late 2015 when Khulusi pulled the trigger on a major acquisition to acquired CDN Top 10 Solution Provider Acrodex.
Acrodex said joining PCM, a $1.4 billion channel partner headquartered in El Segundo, Calif., enables the company to better position themselves to scale and grow strategically across North America.
Karim Amarshi, Acrodex’s CEO, said PCM’s extensive capabilities, vast customer and vendor relationships, sales organization size and strength, and brand equity will bring the resources to propel Acrodex to the next level.
Then in a matter of days Khulusi impacted the Canadian channel again. The ink on the paper for the Acrodex acquisition hadn’t dried yet and PCM concluded another deal to obtain the business-to-business assets of Systemax’s North American Technology Group (NATG) which will include the TigerDirect retailer in Canada and the U.S.
The purchase price of $14 million in cash was on the small end of the some major tranactions that occured in 2015, but yet still significant for this market.
