Two of CDN’s Top 100 Solution Providers heavyweights are combining operations.
CDW this morning announced its decision to acquire Scalar Decisions Inc., providing one of Canada’s largest solution providers with a significant boost across its managed services, cloud and security portfolio. Scalar has been named one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies by Canadian Business and also received Canada’s Best Managed Companies award from Deloitte in 2018. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and according to a press release, the acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019.
The two found organizations are on the same wavelength when it comes to a customer-first focus on a solutions-led approach, said Paul Kerr, president and chief executive officer for Scalar.
“Joining CDW Canada is a huge win for our customers and our coworkers,” he said in a statement.
J.D. Hupp, CDW Canada’s vice-president and general manager agreed, and said the two will leverage each other’s strengths.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Scalar team to CDW Canada,” he said.
CDW Canada ranks number one on CDN’s most recent Top 100 Solution Providers List, while Scalar comes in at number 8. In August 2018, Apple announced it was working with CDW on a new “Apple at Work” offering that is available across North America. The program runs out of the Etobicoke, Ont.-based CDW Canada office and will allow customers to acquire Apple products and integrate them to work alongside their Windows-based P.C. environment.
