Compugen mirrored last year’s Best Managed Services winner Laser Networks, with its print-focused solution.
Compugen leveraged its coast-to-coast scale to developed a managed print services business that marries the best of both worlds: the scale of a national vendor with the vendor-neutral advice of a trusted solution provider. This solution provider worked with its customer, Mac’s Convenience Stores, and took advantage of its move to a new head office to completely re-imagine the way it looks at a printed page.
Following an initial assessment of the previous print environment, it was decided to start a refresh by returning all the old equipment in favour of a new, more efficient print fleet. A departmental approach allowed for a more reasonable printer to employee ratio, using fewer vendors allowing for maintenance savings, and automated consumables delivery, which allowed Mac’s IT team to focus on more strategic activities.
The customer enjoyed lower capital costs, a lower cost-per-page, and a much-lower print spend.
Mac’s was moving into its new offices and Compugen’s MPS solution completely revamped and optimized the company’s print environment for its head office in Toronto that included proactive monitoring and management saving Mac’s money and ensuring high-quality print, copy, scan and fax services for 145 users.Compugen’s managed services offering for Mac’s also provide the convenience store operator with environmental benefits. Compugen stated that of the estimated two per cent of global carbon emissions attributable to IT, six per cent is due to printers, according to Gartner Research.
Compugen’s Managed Print Services furthers Mac’s sustainability objectives by reducing Mac’s environmental footprint in terms of both the total power consumed, devices and consumables used and by acquired Energy Star products.
