Former Navantis senior vice-president Trevor Marshall is leaving the Toronto-based solution provider to run middleware vendor Tibco Software Inc.’s Canadian operation.
Tibco is a $1 billion vendor best know for its installations in Wall Street, FedEx and SouthWest Airlines. As Marshall put it: ” FedEx can’t ship without Tibco, SouthWest can’t fly without Tibco and stockbrokers can’t place a trade on Wall Street without Tibco.”
Marshall will be Tibco’s first ever Country Manager for Canada. The company has done business in Canada but its run through a U.S. office in Chicago.
Marshall will be responsible for providing sales leadership, acquiring new customers, deepening relationships with existing customers and channel partners, and to grow the Tibco brand in Canada.
“Ideally I plan to leverage my existing relationships and knowledge of the Canadian market and partner ecosystem as well as familiarity with top sales talent. I will be expanding the existing sales team and will focus on developing and assembling a high-performance enterprise sales team,” Marshall told CDN.
Currently Marshall is looking to fill two sales positions in Toronto and one sales position in Calgary.

Tibco’s infrastructure software is sold for on-premise environments or as part of a cloud computing solution. Typically Tibco handles claims, trade processing, cross-selling products and it does this based on real-time customer behaviour data that the system captures and tracks.
According to Marshall, Tibco provides companies the two-second advantage which means it can either help you win a new business opportunity by providing you the right information, at the right time or to use that information to mitigate risk in your business.
Tibco has more than 4,000 customers worldwide.
